Using giant humanoid fighting robots called Mobile Suits, the Principality of Zeon has brought the Federation to its knees. Placing all its hope in developing Mobile Suits of its own, the federation has developed a prototype MS called Gundam. Incredibly, a young and inexperienced pilot Named Armuro Ray is tapped to pilot the Gundam, and soon he finds himself battling Zeon's top pilot, Char Aznable, for not only the survival of the Federation, but for his own life.
